    BIG MOBILITY DATA ANALYTICS FOR TRAFFIC MONITORING AND CONTROL

    With the overpopulation of large cities, the problems with citizensā€™ mobility, transport inefficiency, traffic congestions and environmental pollution caused by the heavy traffic require advanced ITS solutions to be overcome. Recent advances and wide proliferation of mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, carried by people, built in vehicles and integrated in a road infrastructure, enable collection of large scale data related to mobility and traffic in smart cities, still with a limited use in real world applications. In this paper, we propose the traffic monitoring, control and adaptation platform, named TrafficSense, based on Big Mobility Data processing and analytics. It provides a continuous monitoring of a traffic situation and detection of important traffic parameters, conditions and events, such as travel times along the street segments and traffic congestions in real time. Upon detecting a traffic congestion on an intersection, the TrafficSense application leverages the feedback control loop mechanism to provide a traffic adaptation based on the dynamic configuration of traffic lights duration in order to increase the traffic flows in critical directions at the intersections. We tested and evaluated the developed application on the distributed cloud computing infrastructure. By varying the streaming workload and the cluster parameters we show the feasibility and applicability of our approach and the platform

    In this paper, we present research work related to processing and analysis of big trajectory data using MapReduce framework. We describe the MapReduce-based algorithms and applications implemented on Hadoop for processing spatial join between big trajectory data and set of POI regions and appropriate aggregation of join results. The experimental evaluation and results in detecting trajectory patterns of particular users and the most popular places in the city demonstrate the feasibility of our approach. The visual analytics of MapReduce job output improve the trajectory and movement analysis

    The multi-criteria analysis of corporate social responsibility: a comparative study of Russia, Bulgaria and Serbia

    Cross-cultural research on corporate social responsibility (CSR) dealing with specific stakeholder groups is fairly rare in the existing literature. The aim of this research is to investigate the level of recognition of CSR in companies by employees working in micro/small, medium-sized and large companies. The research is based on the survey conducted in Bulgaria, Russia and Serbia with the employees' attitudes obtained via a structured questionnaire. A similar socio-historical background of the three countries and different levels of accomplished socio-economic development at present is taken into account. A proposed ranking methodology was based on the multi-criteria decision analysis approach, observed through five studied dimensions: environmental, social, economic, stakeholder and voluntariness. The ranking was carried out using the integrated Entropy-PROMETHEE-GAIA method, where the Entropy method was used for determining the weights of the criteria, whereas PROMETHEE-GAIA was used for final ranking. The obtained results were analyzed from the multi-cultural point of view and show more significant differences in the attitudes of employees from different countries, rather than when the size of a company is taken into consideration

    Upotreba mobilnih tehnologija u srednjoŔkolskom obrazovanju

    Cilj ovog rada je analiza načina i preferencija upotrebe mobilnih tehnologija i, u okviru njih, posebno, druÅ”tvenih mreža, za potrebe obrazovanja među srednjoÅ”kolskom populacijom u Srbiji. U okviru rada predstavljeno je istraživanje sprovedeno u aprilu 2016. godine, o u potrebi mobilnih tehnologija od strane učenika Pete ekonomske Å”kole iz Beograda. Dobijeni rezultati pokazali su da trendovi koriŔćenja informacionih tehnologija u domaćim srednjim Å”kolama na približno istom nivou kao i u sličnim istraživanjima sprovedenim u drugim državama. Takođe, rezultati istraživanja pokazuju i da postoji prostor za unapređenje primene savremenih informacionih tehnologija u procesu obrazovanja

    INPUT SPLITS DESIGN TECHNIQUES FOR NETWORK INTRUSION DETECTION ON HADOOP CLUSTER

    Intrusion detection system (IDS) is one of the most important components being used to monitor network for possible cyber-attacks. However, the amount of data that should be inspected imposes a great challenge to IDSs. With recent emerge of variousbig data technologies, there are ways for overcoming the problem of the increased amount of data. Nevertheless, some of this technologies inherit data distribution techniques that can be a problem when splitting a sensitive data such as network data frames across a cluster nodes. The goal of this paper is design and implementation of Hadoop based IDS. In this paper we propose different input split techniques suitable for network data distribution across cloud nodes and test the performances of their Apache Hadoop implementation. Four different data split techniques will be proposed and analysed. The techniques will be described in detail. The system will be evaluated on Apache Hadoop cluster with 17 slave nodes. We will show that processing speed can differ for more than 30% depending on chosen input split design strategy. Additionally, weā€™ll show that malicious level of network traffic can slow down the processing time, in our case, for nearly 20%. The scalability of the system will al so be discussed

    The Effects of CSR Activities on Business According to Employee Perception

    Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become a vital element for building a long-term relationship with a companyā€™s stakeholders. Different dimensions of a companyā€™s social initiatives in terms of internal and external CSR activities influence the satisfaction of employees with the purpose of improving the CSR application. The aim of this research is to examine the level of employeesā€™ awareness of the implementation of CSR in Serbian and Russian companies. A comparative analysis between these two countries was carried out in order to perceive the differences in attitudes of employees, their job satisfaction, and consequently the implementation of CSR. The hypotheses of the developed model were tested by using the Multi-group Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The obtained results offered several implications for scholars and practitioners that should be considered when formulating and implementing CSR actions

    Sanitary landfill site selection using GIS-based on a fuzzy multi-criteria evaluation technique: a case study of the City of Kraljevo, Serbia

    Adequate disposal of municipal solid waste (MSW) is one of Serbiaā€™s most complex environmental challenges. The problem is more serious in urban areas, since large amounts of waste are disposed of in locations that do not comply with environmental, technical, and socio-economic standards. Such is the case for the city of Kraljevo, where about 116,000 inhabitants do not have a sanitary landfill facility. This research includes a multi-criteria analysis, conducted with the help of geographic information systems, to find a suitable landfill site location. After data collection, the first step was to process 15 environmental and socio-economic factors utilizing the fuzzy analytic-hierarchy process method. The second step comprised the visual analysis and selection of the ten most suitable locations from the synthetic convenience map. The third step involved the final ranking of sites by means of the fuzzy multi-objective analysis by ratio, plus the full multiplicative form method, based on four additional beneficial and non-beneficial criteria. The results show that sanitary landfill candidate site A4 is the most suitable location for constructing a sanitary landfill site due to its large area (569 ha) and relatively short distance from the urban zone (8 km). This study is the first to integrate geographic information systems and the fuzzy analytic-hierarchy process, multi-objective analysis by ratio, and the full multiplicative form algorithm for sanitary landfill selection. The results of the research can be used as a reference for safe waste disposal in the city of Kraljevo

    Novel aryl hydrocarbon receptor modulator promotes immunosupressive immune response by stimulating T regulatory cells in the gut

    Introduction: The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor which is highly expressed in mucosal tissues - by epithelial cells and immune cells such as Th17 CD4+ and T reg- ulatory cells (Treg). Besides its function of clearing environmental pollutants from the body, it was also revealed that AhR has immunoregulatory effects, thus becoming a potential therapeutic target for mod- ulating the immune response. For that purpose we tested a novel synthetic AhR modulator under the code name C43. Methods: CYP1A1 (downstream effector of AhR) activation was tested by the EROD assay. Sort-purified CD4+ cells from mesenteric lymph nodes (MLN) were treated with C43 for 24 h. Zebrafish embryos were used to test the toxicity of C43. Male C57BL/6 mice orally received C43 (10 mg/kg) for 5 consecutive days, after which MLN were harvested. Phenotype and function of the cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. Results: C43 showed mild AhR agonistic activity. After treating the sort-purified CD4+ cells with C43, there was a shift in the Th17/Treg ratio in favour of the latter. C43 showed no signs of toxicity when tested on zebrafish embryos. MLN cells from mice that received C43 revealed a shift in the Th1/Treg ratio in favour of Tregs, with a documented rise of the portion of Tregs that expressed CYP1A1 in comparison with the control group of mice. Conclusion: C43 can modulate the immune response through the intestine by promoting the im- munosuppressive Treg population
